Mike, Heidi, and Evan
Dear Birthparent:
We can’t begin to express the gratitude and admiration we have for you for considering an adoption plan for your baby. And we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to learn a little about us. We are Mike, Heidi and Evan, and we can’t wait to add a new family member!
Camping, skiing, hiking, reading, cookouts with friends, trips to the park, and walks around our neighborhood lake; these are just some of the activities that make up our lives. We are happy and active, and would love to have another little one to share our life with – help them to grow and teach them to experience and appreciate the world around them.
About Us: Mike and Heidi met in 2001 on a trip to Lake Powell that was organized by mutual friends. We spent the week getting to know each other, and returned knowing we wanted to continue to be a part of each other’s lives. We moved to Thornton in 2004 and have since gotten married, bought our home in a wonderful neighborhood, and have become parents to an amazing little boy, Evan, and our sweet Australian Shepherd, Sammie.
After years of talking and dreaming about having a family, we were blessed to be chosen to be Evan’s parents and we are loving every minute of it! We love the energy that comes with sharing life with a child. The laughter, the tears, the milestones, the hugs and kisses – they are all incredible. We can’t imagine not doing it again!! We have always wanted more than one child, and we feel it’s so important for kids to have siblings. We have a loving, stable and happy home. A home where our children will never doubt that they are loved and wanted more than anything.
Heidi says: Mike is a wonderful person. He wakes up every morning with the attitude that “today is going to be a great day!” He is responsible and incredibly loyal to family and friends. He is a fantastic dad!! He is patient and fun, and loves to build forts, dig in the sandbox, sing the alphabet, and teach Evan how to throw, kick or hit a ball. He has always been able to find a connection with even the shyest child and have them laughing in record time. We are so lucky to have him as a husband and father!
Mike says: Heidi has made me a better, more complete person. She is easily the most thoughtful, caring person I have ever met and is always putting the good of those around her in front of hers. She has taught me to be more compassionate and is always focusing attention on Evan’s health, happiness and well being (she is the one who makes both Evan and me eat vegetables). Heidi is fully in-tune with Evan’s development. They‘re always reading books, coloring or learning animal names and the sounds they make. Her ability to share these traits makes her an excellent wife and mother. One who always focuses on what it takes to be a kind, sensitive, contributing member of today’s society.
Heidi and Mike Say: Evan is an incredible little boy. He is very loving and charismatic. He has a great sense of humor and a great sense of adventure. His smiles and kisses melt our hearts. He loves to be outside; going down slides, driving his “car” and pointing out all the planes that fly by. He loves to play with other kids and will be a great brother! Evan is growing and learning so quickly, and we couldn’t be more proud of him or more thankful that we are his parents.
Evan says (Or so we think…): I love my family! We love to play and read lots of books. They take me on all sorts of adventures, like camping, bike rides and hikes. Dad chases me all over the house and I like to chase him too! Mom and I both love to dance and spin around and get dizzy. It makes us fall down and laugh! My dog, Sammie, is the best. She is so patient with me while I am learning to pet her gently. I love to feed her treats and watch her run around in the yard.
We are so fortunate to have loving and supportive families, and we always look forward to spending time with them. They are thrilled with our decision to adopt again, and are anxious to have a new addition to the family!
